Merlion Park
I've been travelling since my early twenties, but months ago, I had my first international trip. Singapore was one of the go-to destinations especially for beginners like me.
My favorite part was getting into Universal Studios. I was so amazed with this world-class amusement park and so I took a lot of photos. However, everything inside was kind of pricey so I just bought snacks and some souvenirs that I could afford at that time. Me and my friend enjoyed the rides so much. I personally recommend their indoor roller coaster, Return of the Mummy.

Even if you don't get inside the park, you can still enjoy a lot of things from the outside. You will see shopping malls, restaurants, and casino so for sure you won't get bored.
We also visited the famous Gardens by the Bay. I noticed that there were a lot of places to choose from, with their corresponding entrance fees. We chose to explore the Flower Dome and the OCBC Skyway. I was so happy that I visited Flower Dome because the theme at that time was Spring season, and because of that I was able to see Cherry blossoms in real life!

The trip won't be complete without having a taste of their cuisine. So we went to their local eateries or hawker stalls in order to get authentic food as much as possible. There were a lot of dishes to choose from, like Chinese, Vietnamese, Arab, or Indian. And besides, they were cheaper than the snacks we bought from touristy places. Don't forget to try the famous Hainanese Chicken Rice.

We also joined a Hop on-and off Bus tour to explore around the city. A Chinese guide accommodated us tourists and shared everything about the history of their country, culture, and even the stories behind their famous landmarks such as the iconic Merlion Statue. After the tour, we stopped at a souvenir shop in Chinatown. As for me, I preferred giving consumable items like food as pasalubong but I also included some ref magnets because they were really cheap. And of course, I gave them to my family and co-workers when I came back.
Overall, it was a short but enjoyable experience for me. I may have spent a lot but didn't have any regrets. It opened my eyes to a new perspective; and somehow, it inspired me to explore and appreciate more for I realized that the world was my oyster. Glad and thankful to God who gave me the courage to do so.
